    All in the wording comprehension.
    Qld has the cheapest KW hour price in australia by far (coal) but also has the highest usage per household due to air cons on most of the year.

    So automatically they have the most expensive electricity not really all in the wording.

    Average Joe doesnt care where it comes from as long as it's cheap and reliable.

    When power goes out here periodically during summer the days of 40 plus c we plug petrol generator into house Flik a auxiliary with away we go once power was out for almost 3 days uses a bit of gas now that was expensive electricty had people coming up for showers etc.

    Will delete the thread tonight been a good one on track were all on similar page renewables have a place thats it in a nutshell and perfect in some areas just so darn expensive.

    Top line danish system here with "mega battery" would cost me just north of $50,000 with ability to charge a EV if I went down that path. Chinese set up just over half that.

      Australia has large amounts of roof top solar so obviously Australians do care about where their electricity comes from.

      Renewables are lowering the prices Australians pay.
      Batteries and storage are playing a big role.

        I have no generator. Others sure do.
        Have a big generator for some bin aeration.

          We can provide storage and backup while still having lots of lower cost renewable electricity.

            Australia does not get prolonged cold winter temperatures. No doubt they can store for a day or two
            that ain’t good enough for -30 to -40 for weeks at a time .

              Crazy some get a feed in tariff a credit on bill others actually get charged for electricity they supply a debit on there bill others who may be two parents working leave at 7.30 am get home at say 6 at night see no lowering of bill because there not home to use the power that situation you need a battery.

              Each situation different

                True, but renewables and storage will cover a lot of electricity demand for much of the year at a lower cost and reduce carbon emissions which is the reason we are transitioning away from fossil fuels.

                  Who could have predicted that solar power would be worth less than zero when the sun shines.
                  This will eventually be standard for all grid tied solar.

                    Having too much solar power that is worth nothing is a problem?

                    With the demand for electricity rising rapidly and the electrification of everything we should be able to figure out a system to use and store most of that electricity.

                    Australian states that are giving away surplus power for free because of solar are trying to shift demand to surplus times.

                    Net zero homes have existed for decades. Homes that conserve energy and produce enough energy to offset their smaller usage.

                    And all the technology that is used in net zero systems is rapidly evolving and improving.

                    Heat pumps, batteries, energy efficiency gains are moving quickly.

                      Another ones has fallen over this week not sure of reasons will find out if its noteworthy walk away leave panels there grazing and shade I guess
