      Will keep you all in the loop what transpires plus y'all have google might be the impetus for alternate power source to help supply issues and unforeseen stuff like Zen collapse.
      We have 3rd or 4th biggest uranium supplies in the world after Russia and canada I believe unharnessed power and as the cost of everything solar and wind batteries etc increase numbers change.
      Another thing I cant get my head around or confirm some solar farms here are at end of useful live panel must lose efficiency not sure.

        In reality, there is no sunny warm place in the world where where it has been cost effective. Case in point, Australia, as this thread topic is reinforcing.

          The president of Saskpower was on the radio the other day. He stated another challenge with wind and solar is that the output fluctuates moment to moment, which makes it difficult to provide a pure stable flow of current. I think Chuck needs to shut off his gas and unhook his meter and find out how lovely standalone solar is. Can you imagine trying to balance a transmission network with power from windmills that produce up and down as the wind gusts through out the day? It is managed by having a gas peaker plant that sits running full bore in neutral until you need it. VERY EFFICIENT. LOL LOL

            Furrow the southern prairies are very productive for wined an solar. They don't need to supply all the electricity to be very valuable.

            You can have many sources of electricity working together interconected with other regions.

            Brad Wall was suggesting 50% renewables. That was and still is achievable.

            And its absolutely bullshit to suggest that renewables are not cost effective.

            Sask power clearly said wind is the the lowest cost new source.

            We need base load and backup but we can have lots of lower cost renewables as well.

            On our farm we produce enough solar electricity to cover all our annual usage.

            November and February are decent producing months because panels are more efficient in the cold. Add in a bit of storage and we could increase our reliance on solar.

            The average household in Saskatchewan uses 7000 kwh per year or 20 kwh per day. A 75kwh EV battery holds 3 days of average use.

                    LEP was referring to infrastructure upgrade and maintenance.
                    Sharing with other jurisdictions.
                    Farms for one, are industrial sites requiring reliable commercial sized supply. Not just a house.
                    Even urban can't plug in every car with current infrastructure.
                    Batteries will still need connections.

                      For a daily commute of 50 km you need only about 12 kwh in a medium sized SUV. Sask Power cost $1.80. My cost with solar, 96 cents.

                      Gasoline cost for 50km at 7L/100 km $5.77. An EV at Sask power rates is 31% of the cost of gasoline.
