China, Australia, much of Europe and Britain, North Dakota, California and Texas all have large amounts of renewables that absolutely show they can provide a lot of lower cost electricity.

Nuclear is the highest cost option.

Large amounts means less than half with the remainder fossil, largely coal.
You've admitted renewable can't cover all needs or even stable base needs yet.
If we increase our own renewable to say 45%, what do you want to rely on. Energy will triple in price in the next generation one way or the other.

Including Mark Carney. His Brookfield options are worth $30 to $100 million depending on how much he can pump them with projects like carbon capture, modular homes, heart pumps, wind farms, etc, etc.

I would agree but be careful in making absolute assumptions.
I toured parts of the north half of China in 2010 and saw miles of windmills and I'm pretty sure they weren't doing it for brownie points.

In Australia solar is so cheap several states are giving away electricity for 3 hours per day!

That's a good problem to have.

On our farm small scale solar costs 8 cents per kwh and Sask Power 15 cents.

How is this a bad deal?

Comparing western Canada to Australia for solar is just dumb on a big scale
small scale like yours makes sense if you can afford the set up . 80% of Canadians can’t because we are taxed to death and disposable income has plummeted

We produce enough electricity to cover our annual usage which will be paid for in 10 years. The next 15 -20 years are icing on the cake.

in the last federal census in 2021 over 10,000 farms already had their own renewable electricity. The 2026 number will show many more farms have invested.
