What I find amusing is how gullible the Canadian public is to believe Carney is a real agent of change. Certainly he did remove the consumer carbon tax, a tax which Trudeau said saved Canadians money with the rebates and with its removal Carney said he was saving Canadians money?!?!
Industrial carbon tax, was $170 a tonne by 2030, now $140 a tonne by 2040 but with a minimum effective price of $130 a tonne, this part is never discussed or elaborated on by government or media. The minimum effective level to be guaranteed by the taxpayer through Carbon Contracts of Difference with industry. So just over 80% of Trudeau’s industrial carbon tax. The requirement of the $20 billion plus Carbon Capture and storage project still exists. So yeah you can built a pipeline but we make sure the oil is more expensive to produce..

Also remember Trudeau era laws bill C-48 and C-69 were not touched. EV sales mandate was removed but in its place new emissions standards were enacted that are supposed to get Canada 90% EV’s by 2035.

I could go on but the reality is Carney is still doing 80% or more of what Justin Trudeau did. Stephen Guilbeault leaving is nothing more than political theatrics to make Canadians think Carney is doing more than he really is and the media will sell it. My guess is Guilbeault found a better offer.
