The planets surface is 70% water.

So if you include the oceans, all the continents and many countries could be warming at twice the rate of the entire planet. Because water takes a long time to warm up compared to land.

You forgot about that basic physics and geograhpy didn't you?

Again Hamloc you fail to understand the really basic logic, science and understanding of climate change.

Instead you pull up a few articles that seem confusing to you but then try to make the case there must be some problem with the science! Thousands of climate scientist are wrong but, Hamloc the farmer from Alberta knows better?

Not in a chance in hell that you got it right!

But I see you failed to address the graph on CO2 emissions in the last 800,000 years which included numerous glacial and interglacial periods. So how are you going to respond Hamloc? I can't wait to hear!

You better come up with a better excuse than the last one that didn't work!

Screaming at anti science fools more like it!

Where did Hamloc go? He should be here to defend his poor arguments that the climate science is all wrong and he knows more than the they do!

And to prove it he says its not possible for continents and countries (landmasses) to be all warming twice as fast as the planet.

Well it is possible, if you consider 70% of the planet is covered in water which warms much slower. In reality the evidence shows different regions of the world are warming at different rates. For a number of reasons. And many regions are warming more rapidly!

But lets leave the details of climate science to the scientists.

Instead of like Hamloc, who is making up half baked theories that dont stand the test of simple science.

If you had read the various articles Chuck2 you would see that the journalists in each instance were comparing the temperature rise in the country of choice not to the ocean temperature rise, they were comparing it to other countries.

There is no confusion or misunderstanding on my part, my point was that that journalists were fear mongering about climate change.

Bullshit Hamloc! You got it wrong!

See the words global average? C'mon man we are not falling for your BS spin to get yourself out of the hole you dug! LOL

            From Reuters:

Middle East, North Africa temperatures rising twice as fast as global average, says UN weather agency

Hamloc stick to farming or whatever you do and let the climate scientists and journalists do their job.

Because in both cases they know more than you do about the science.

Several regions and countries, including the Arctic, Europe, Asia, Canada, and the Middle East/North Africa (MENA), are experiencing temperatures rising at twice—or more—the global average. (melting ice revealing heat-absorbing land/ocean), increased heat over large landmasses, and atmospheric circulation.

            Key Regions Facing Accelerated Warming:
            • Arctic: Warming is exceeding the global average by a significant margin due to albedo feedback (less ice, more heat absorption).
            • Asia: The continent is warming twice as fast as the global average, with 2024 seeing record-breaking temperatures in countries like Japan, China, and Korea.
            • Europe: Heating up at twice the global rate, leading to severe summer heatwaves and increased heat-related deaths.
            • Middle East & North Africa (MENA): Recorded their hottest year in 2024, with temperatures rising at double the global average, driving severe water scarcity.
            • Canada: Warming at twice the global rate, with the Northwest Territories warming at three times the speed of the rest of the world.

            Causes and Impacts:
            • Land vs. Ocean: Temperatures rise faster over land than over water, affecting large landmasses like Asia.
            • Surface Feedback: As ice melts, darker ground absorbs more solar energy, accelerating warming.
            • Consequences: These regions face severe heatwaves (over 50°C in some areas), intense droughts, melting infrastructure, and increased wildfire risk.

And how much difference do you think continually raising the industrial carbon tax and increasing the cost of carbon credits on refineries through the clean fuel standard will make Chuck2? It will certainly increase the cost of doing business in Canada. Do you think forcing Canadian producers to leave the oil in the ground will affect worldwide oil consumption? I don’t, it will simply incentivize production to other jurisdictions with less regulation and taxation.

tRump's stupid war has accelerated the transition away from fossil fuels and everyone is looking at more renewables instead of relying on oil cartels and geo political hots spots.

Of course petro provinces and states that are dependent on oil revenues don't want to face the reality that the world is changing.

Even Steven Harper agreed we would stop burning fossil fuels!

Your changing your tact now that you couldn’t bait me into an argument? My opinion never changed. In fact your above post listing the Arctic, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, Canada as warming faster simple backs up what I said, articles from almost every country have written articles on how their country is warming faster. Curious though, why isn’t the U.S.A. included in the list? Orange Man Bad must be accelerating climate change in the U.S.A.
