Alberta wants to take ideology out of the classroom? Really? LOL

You gotta laugh at Alberta's UCP order to take ideology out of the classroom and provide a balance of views on every subject!

So how do they square that with shutting down discussion on gender, sexuaklity and LGBQT+ issues in schools and exempting religous schools from presenting balanced views on social issues like abortion and gender and homo sexuality?

Lets face it Danny and the UCP want big government to impose their social conservative ideology in the classroom!

The UCP social conservative ideological dinosaurs are not extinct, they are alive and well and trying to impose their ideology in every facet of education, healthcare and social life in Alberta

Give them a chance and they will officially declare a separate Alberta a "Fundamentalist Christian State"

The UCP are a bunch MAGA lite yokels who want to tell you how to live your life!

Yes! It seems like much of official Ottawa didn’t get the memo that we have passed peak woke.
Here’s my take: it’s a broader problem of institutional capture. As you know, there is a large population of people with graduate & post graduate degrees in the humanities whose academic formation has been heavily (or exclusively) informed by critical theory, ie grievance studies / intersectionality. There aren’t nearly enough postings available in academia for them. So many end up applying for and being hired into government departments and agencies. Once they achieve critical mass, they advance their ideological agenda to “deconstruct” Canadian history, which they generally regard as a dystopia of colonial injustice, inequity, systemic racism, etc..

I saw exactly this when I first became Minister of Multiculturalism in 2007. I was astonished to discover the weird obsession with critical race theory amongst many officials, and that was twenty years ago when much of this was still gestating.

In their defence, many of them have never been exposed to contrary viewpoints, and believe they are engaged in the work of advancing social justice. And over the past decade, they have been encouraged rather than constrained in advancing their agenda by their Ministers.

Posted by Kenney. Kind of an explanatory of how we got here.

BP No doubt some your regressive conservative buddies want to roll back equality and human rights for certain groups they don't like and take us back to the good ole days before woke.

The civil rights movement in the US that gave blacks equality and first nations the vote would have been too woke for some of you.
