    Pierre Poilievre

Passed the leadership review with a 87.4% approval.

His real test comes at the next federal election.

Personally, I think the Conservatives needed a new leader and Poilievre won't beat the Liberals. Even worse.... his seat is in the west, the voting power is in the east and they'll "see" him as a western leader.

He may have been good enough to belittle the dunce Trudeau, but I think he will meet his match with Carney, there's an adult in the room now. My bet will be on another Liberal win in the next election, whenever that will be.

I don't see how the socialists will ever be unseated again.

Now that only 43% of Canadians are net taxpayers. And 25% of them work for government.
That leaves only 32% of voters with any self interest in voting against big government.

I didn't subtract under 18's from those numbers. So it would be slightly better.

Pot stores on every corner worked on the past youth but that's wearing thin . Lots of young people are tired of living in there parents basement. Job ops. and cost of living will be what Pierre has to work with up hill for sure. Those thinking Doug Ford should be running the show would only benefit Ontario. N.D.P. vote splitting looks done for a long time. We will see if the Carney and Don can kiss and make up or is that all a show anyway? The sale of tin foil hats must be through the roof so much crap to follow can't keep up.

In the face of tRump's blatant attacks on the sovereignty and economy of Canada, PP sure is afraid to stand up and take a stand against tRump.

He didn't even have the balls to mention his name in his speech to delegates! What a knob!

tRump is the most hated president ever across the country and around the world even amongst most Conservatives, and all PP can do is cater to his small percentage of rabid MAGA tRump supporters?

There was no downside to taking a tougher stand against tRump and standing up with the all the premiers across the country.

There were few Conservative delegates from Quebec or Ontario home of the most succesful Conservative politician in Canada, Doug Ford.

        Carney eats his lunch everyday.

Your certainly not wrong. Liberal governments do their best to create a dependent electorate or at least an electorate that believes they need government to survive..
What is interesting is how voting demographics have been turned on their head in Canada. Poilievre and the Conservatives are polling better than the Liberals in the under 40 demographic and Carney and the Liberals are polling better in the over 60 demographic, exactly opposite of traditional voting patterns. The key for the Conservatives will be to maintain the momentum with the younger demographic while at the same time convincing the over 60 crowd that Poilievre can be just as effective against Trump. Nothing Carney has done since being elected has shown he has any positive abilities to negotiate with Trump, in fact exactly the opposite. If Carney gets a majority it will in my opinion help the separatist causes in both Quebec and Alberta.
And Chuck2, Doug Ford is a Liberal buffoon not a Conservative!!

The card holding 51st Staters control the narrative within the CPC party.

It's to bad that selfish group of individuals handcuffs PP.

the 12.6% who voted against him were CPC MPs.

Trump is gone in 3 years. This is about Canada.
I am pleased with Poilievre. Don’t ever want to see an O’Toole or Ford type.
Youth overwhelmingly going conservative, obviously they see they are economically disadvantaged like never before in this country. All due to Liberal and NDP doctrines.
That said we are probably stuck with Liberal leadership for a while yet.

Remember there are a lot of voters who voted for the last liberal leader, three times. Either they saw something in Pierre that scared them or they thought that trudeau was the guy to navigate ship Canada through the water. In my opinion both of those thoughts were deeply flawed.
In the past Pierre would have been an easy choice for the next PM for most people, but political traditions have changed especially when you consider a lot of voters seemed quite happy to have had their ship in dry dock over half the time for collusion repairs.
Farmaholic is right, there is an adult in the room now, I’m just not convinced he’s the right one. It will take me years to forgive the liberals and ndp for that costly clown show we had to endure.
Conservative strategists have a tough job ahead of them, it’s definitely uphill in loose rocks for them.
