    More Australian Stupidity

Been some serious fires in neighbouring state last week had a 40 plus C two days and winds and lightning plus fuel load.

No burning during winter to reduce load a few 1km wide breaks needed but will lose vegetation and wildlife which is fair enough argument until it’s all razed gone kaput.

Crazy situation for some not allowed to to clear vegetation around house as fire prevention measure dumb then insurance companies won’t insure because of fire risk due to excess vegetation or massive premium.

Dumb Sad Serious issue all at same time.

Plus other issue coming out some farmers took it into there own hands got graders and dozers out to do firebreaks saved property livestock who knows even lives there in trouble from various quarters.

Couldn’t post this in commodity section. Our state a few fires but none serious.

    cheers lads lasses convertibles

On the western side of the Otway Ranges there are 2 advice warnings for bushfires and dry lightning. On the eastern side of the Otway Ranges we see Emergency Warnings issued for flash flooding as they have received 150mm of rain today. Happens about 1nce every 15 yrs uplift over ranges and moist air on east side

So Down Under are you still sure the majority of Australians don't care about climate change and a hotter dryer Australia?

Who is preventing fuel removal and fire break construction?

bureaucracy and greens and lack of common sense.

yesterdays situation has happened before as mentioned media hype it up and I think a king tide as well possibly.

high 30s low 40s forecast next week old fashioned summer in 26 thus far been a while.

indigenous groups not sure how to say it, lets say they question things years gone by they used to burn huge areas to regenerate country other issues little or no grazing of cattle in high country now huge fuel load and weeds

best intentions by many sadly may be back firing in whole environmental climate debate

A cut and paste below which I rarely do but written in 1904 still rings true
            • "I love a sunburnt country, A land of sweeping plains, Of ragged mountain ranges, Of droughts and flooding rains."
            • "Core of my heart, my country! Land of the rainbow gold, For flood and fire and famine She pays us back threefold."
            ?

Bit more weather stuff basically why in austalia we welcome volcanic eruption this explains it well and this weeks event.
easier than me explaining it in mallee speak and quote
A REAL example of cloud seeding.

Last week's devastating bushfires helped seed the atmosphere in the way of fine smoke particles, providing the nuclei for additional raindrops to form on.

This along with the help of orographic lift and the stationary nature of yesterday's rainfall across the Wye River region lead to greater than normal rainfall rates and totals. Hence flash flooding.

This is a satellite image of the trough the day before, with smoke feeding in and around its southern flank towards Bass Strait.

The system still contains smoke particles so expect higher than forecast rainfall totals for the south-east over the coming days.?
