Or you could look at the U.S. shutting down five alternative energy projects that are almost complete. Their electricity rates are going higher because traditional power generation can't keep up. Of course the Trump regime only canceled those in states that did not vote Repubican.

Looks like the mistake they made was not voting republican
hopefully they learn from their mistake

Only fools ignore the the lower cost of renewables.
And guess what you can have both renewables and backup sources running at the same time!
Texas and North Dakota, both strongly Republican states have lots of renewables!
Trump is just paying back his oil company billionaires who sent him lots of campaign money!
No doubt Crop you like Donny's attempt to take the USA back many decades to the good ole days!

A new report (https://www.instituteforenergyresearch.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Blue-States-High-Rates.pdf) from Always On Energy Research (https://www.aoenergy.org/) and the Institute for Energy Research (https://www.instituteforenergyresearch.org/) finds that 86% of states with electricity prices above the national average voted for Democratic presidential candidates in 2020 and 2024. In contrast, 80% of the 10 states with the lowest electricity prices are reliably red. That’s not a coincidence. Those high prices reflect a consistent pattern of state-level energy policies that dictate emissions reduction targets at the expense of affordability, reliability, and physics.?Originally posted by cropgrower View PostLooks like the mistake they made was not voting republican

High electricity rates aren’t an unavoidable consequence of modern life or federal policy. They are the predictable outcome of state-level choices that ignore reliability, undervalue dispatchable generation, and impose rigid mandates regardless of cost. Americans deserve leaders who recognize that keeping the lights on at a modest price isn’t optional. The states keeping electricity affordable today offer a roadmap for those willing to learn.
Probably just another coincidence...Last edited by AlbertaFarmer5; Jan 1, 2026, 17:28.

So Absurd 5 why are electricity prices so high in UCP Alberta? LOL

Had a chance to look at a BYD electric car while in central america. They are Chinese made and are state of the art. There are 14 Million charging stations in China and the country is changing Everything over to be run by electricity.(solar , wind and nuclear) This is why their demand for oil has dropped. North America needs to Catch up

The Biggest reason Domestic electric vehicles dont sell in N,America is because Dealerships dont like selling them. Dealerships make Some money from the sale BUT their biggest revenue stream is Service. EVs have Way fewer parts and need far less service
Tesla sold all its cars with Zero dealerships for this reason
