    Danny Smith Booed!

You gotta laugh at poor Danny who was almost giddy with delight at signing the MOU with Carney only to be booed by the hyper partisan UCP members who never said thanks for the Trudeau TMX pipeline, let alone Carney's efforts on resource development.

For some "oppressed" Albertans and chronic complainers there is nothing that will make them happy!

Oil production has increased and the WCS price has improved. But to hear UCP Albertans talk, they still think they are going broke in the richest province! LOL

Well I just listened to Dominic Leblanc being interviewed on The House on CBC radio. He bragged about how the new deal includes an industrial carbon tax “6 times” higher than what was in effect in Alberta before. A recent article by Jack Mintz pointed out how the cost of the higher carbon tax and CCS agreed to in this MOU will increase the cost of producing a barrel of oil by a minimum of $6.40 a barrel. Catherine asked Dominic several times in different ways trying to get him to say whether or not the federal government actually supported a new oil pipeline to the coast. He never came out and said he or the government did. If I was at the UCP AGM I would have booed as well. No pipeline will ever come to fruition because of this MOU, that simple!

A lot of the carbon tax dates are now up to the Province?

All the goals like Net Zero by 2050 are meaningless.
If Alberta achieves that they will be the only place in the world.
Goals are meaningless as a large part of the world has left that behind.
AI is the new buzz, and for that dispatchable power is the only option.
Net Zero is in the rear view mirror.
      It's a Carney Dream.
His best before date has already passed, Canadians just haven't realized it.
But surely we aren't all morons?

        I don’t believe I know a Danny Smith?
There is a fine Premier in Alberta but her name is Danielle Smith.
She gained a lot for her province with this agreement but also gave up a little.
Her province also pays a huge price to help other poorly managed provinces pay their bills.
For that alone you should treat her and her people with some respect!
You calling her Danny shows your misogynistic attitude towards women in power!
        You’re a loser!

Quite true. Chuck2 pretends he wants serious debate but always resorts to name calling and insults. Personally I think agreeing to a carbon “6 times” the level of today is giving up far too much. Remember the reason the effective carbon tax is so low today is because the supply of carbon credits far exceeds demand making them only worth $25 even though the carbon tax is $90, hence the 6 times statement. If this occurs in the future under this new agreement taxpayers must make up the difference. Example, carbon tax of $130 a tonne, carbon credits only selling for $70 a tonne, taxpayers must make up the $60 differential. This is essentially insurance to guarantee that the amount of revenue companies can count on from carbon credits.

So booing Danny Smith is a sign of respect in the UCP? LOL

Danny doesn't pay other provinces anything.

Equalization is federal program paid for by federal taxes! The same federal tax rate that every Canadian pays. When are you guys going to get this straight?

Alberta has lots of resources that doesn't make it a well managed province.

Norway with $1.3 trillion in one time resource revenue savings for future generations, is a well managed example of how to manage a resource economy.

Well right now if you compare Alberta run by Smith and the UPC and BC by Eby and the NDP you would almost start laughing!
BC is quickly turning into a disaster run by the radical NDP!
Thinking back Saskatchewan was a basket case run by the NDP for many years. It’s only recently it has gained some momentum and respect run by the Sask party.
