    Canadian "daughter" returns

18 years since she stayed with us for 10 months
Great to see her 3 kids 300 cows lives changed
A run of leaner years in Dawson creek last 3 years pasture wise hay wise
Used to come on agriville up till few years back a little but not much cattle stuff, to political lost its way
    Shes still a character
One day of 37.8 that knocked her absolutely floored hubby.
He came out twice in 07 courting her.
Didnt take long for us to relive our friendly banter and her trademark comment "your full of it"

Not sure of correct terminology but when he was here he was 20 with 60 cows and he built up steadily with "share cows" or something similar until about 2018 on his own now.
Seems like real issues in cattle industry "where's the next generation gonna come from" but his oldest daughter vowed and pledges shes wants to run the ranch think shes 12
And he utilises a community pasture think its of lesser quality not because of feed but access and corrals etc etc in "too hard basket" but hes had it for 15 yrs with other guys and maybe a hour away
He said he wished he was in Alberta but he will never shift.

We are on the Alberta side of the BC border, but south of Hwy 43. Kiskatinaw River fires nearby. This is year 5 or 6 for drought here. This is the worst year - cumulative I think. Dugouts and creeks/rivers very low. The town of Dawson Creek ran out of water. Don't know what they ended up doing. Another nail in the coffin for the cattle industry up here in the Peace.
