Three posts in a row coming from farmers who have recieved farm subsidies in the form of Crop Insurance, Agrivest, CEBA, and interest free Cash Advances up to a Million dollars.

Funny, they all claim to be fiscal Righties or a in one case a Libertarian while on the government tit.

old families had 9 or more kids, mom stayed home never got government dollars. All survived.
now young people both work but, need day care while they own 2 newer vehicles, boats, snowmobiles, fifth wheel trailers..and a newer fancy house.
I dont see any Poor young families.

Farmers will always be their own worst enemies. I remember the 80s.
The derision we received from the public regarding checks in the mail.
Do I produce a ROI utilizing millions of dollars and real property in it's highest end use? Yes. I engage in programs as any other business would and does.
But I keep quiet about it. Sure as hell not crying on CBC like back then.
Anyone actively farming today in the top 1%. Different times for sure.
I know and understand people making $25/hr while feeding kids.
Paying more for road fuel than I do.
Honestly, my circle doesn't have anyone that ki-yi's as much as the group here.

U might not pay your road tax in Alta. BP but we do in Sask. Both our gas and diesel are now taxed. We also pay up every 2 weeks on payroll deductions, corps. pay tax and then regular rates for all money coming into our personal earnings. Wanted natural gas line at my yard, sk government controlled authority quoted me 600,000 dollars. 2 miles from a mainline. Paying highest rate for power amongst provinces. 20 to 30 thousand for new hookup. 13,000 bucks to train a 1a driver, it goes on and on.
