Trump urges U.S. cattle ranchers to lower prices as he touts tariffs

Reuters — President Donald Trump on Wednesday said U.S. cattle ranchers are benefiting from tariffs he has imposed on imports but must lower prices to encourage American consumers to buy their beef.

Trump earlier this week said the administration was considering importing Argentine beef as a means of lowering record-high consumer beef prices. The suggestion angered U.S. ranchers. U.S. farmers also recently lost out to Argentina on soybean sales to China.

Of course, but Donny doesn't understand the beef industry and wants to tell beef producers what to do!

Just like he said exporters pay the tariffs!

This will go over like a lead balloon!

I believe be is upping the beef import by 4x to help float the beef economy in order to help milei in the upcoming election?
that and his line of credit extension which allowed them to drop export taxes and china to buy 1000000000000000 tonnes of beans from argentina.

Smart play by a smart man.

Now here comes the beef price plunge and the anger from ranchers. On both sides of the border.

            Argentina election was 3 day's ago ?
            Didn't Melie win mid terms?

Packers will take full advantage of all the negative spin.

Supply is a delicate balance that seldom favored producers.
