In some instances our government has instituted the boycott/bans. Otherwise people have a choice to do as they please, continue to support or boycott, their choice. And no American policy and rhetoric has harmed Canadians and our markets? Is this a one way street?

There, I liked Chucks post.... that would make me a bad person now

Home builders are having to raise the prices of new homes currently during builds because of the costs of materials that come from USA are rising due to tariffs. But wait for it….it’s the Canadian counter tariffs of 25% that are the reason for the increases in price. USA has no tariffs on the materials leaving the USA. And Canada doesn’t manufacture a lot of the materials. So it’s the Canadian Government’s fault to these rising home building costs during a housing crash in prices during a housing crisis.

But Mark Carney keeps pointing to modular housing as the answer, made by Modulaire Group, owned by Brookfield, so him and his buddies can profit. No conflict of interest here, look the other way.

Trump sure is a great distraction from the erosion of democracy in this country. Why does no one but Andrew Coyne notice?

You mean a Government "functioning" without Parliament sitting?
          Would it matter anyway?

Maybe import materials will go up but lumber should come down. We don’t have to compete with American buyers. Lumber will be dumped on our market, wishful thinking?
