When Covid vaccine debacle first started, I stated how optimistic I was about this technology with such potentially life changing benefits for cancer and auto immune diseases, etc.

And how this opportunity was being squandered, and possibly set back by decades by forcing it on healthy people against their will for a cause that turned out to be a nothing burger, creating massive public backlash and mistrust.

I think I understand why this was done. Without an emergency, this potentially life saving technology might have languished in the approval process for decades, Covid was a chance to bypass the onerous slow approval process. And raise the capital required to develop this for so many other diseases.

I genuinely hope that this is the silver bullet for so many incurable diseases, and that the Covid vaccine disaster won't stop further progress on actual diseases.

"languished in the approval process for decades"

If so great why would it not be approved? If Covid NEVER happened? Must be more to this.

Maybe it really is great in the right situation?
Maybe for someone facing certain death from an incurable disease ( not to be confused with the common cold), the risks of long term side effects are out weighed by the immediate risk of dying a horrible death from cancer.

Zero risk is an impossible standard to meet. If the regulators hold the pharmaceuticals to such a high standard, they won't invest in anything revolutionary when the payback could be decades if ever.

Look at the dearth of new herbicides ( actual new chemistries, not just recombinations of existing) we have in recent decades. The regulation/approval process is so long, expensive and uncertain that it isn't worthwhile investing in.

People refuse chemo and radiation to treat their cancers. Why would refusing this be any different?

Can’t get on some imaginary horse and claim refusing to treat cancer is putting others at risk and try and guilt trip and gaslight people into taking it.

Yeah I’d take an mRNA treatment over chemotherapy and radiation any day, or immune blockers for the myriad autoimmune disorders. One such disorder which for whatever reason causes the body to produce too much spinal fluid which in turn creates excessive head pressure causing all kinds of problems like going blind because of pressure on the optic nerve. Only two treatments a shunt, or super high doses of a drug initially meant for altitude sickness which is hard on the body.

i have an aunt that refused chemo and her choice was respected , the reason why i asked aggy that , was because he pretty much without fail has liked every hateful rant cc has made on insulting people that did not want the recent mrna jabs , or even wanted to wait until a bit more research was done
