History is full of disastrous examples of governments deciding they know better than free market and consumers. In fact I can't think of an example that didn't turn out catastrophically.

Trump just said Russia shouldn't have got kicked out of the G7 group and Trudeau was to blame.And there would be no war if he was in power 4 years ago.Seems when Russia was kicked out after the Olympics for illegal invasion when Harper was Prime Minster.Not sure who still believes Trump other than his cult but everyone at the meeting just listen and laugh.
