Talked the talk walked the walk

Met a Lovely lady with 17 stores from Vancouver all the way to Nova Scotia.
She applied for I think “Entrepreneurial Visa” whilst travelling was granted.
Messaged me yesterday I’m a fully fledged American company as of 4 hours ago.
Not sure of fine print but she said already my bottom line is 15% better.
A off the cuff comment most Canadians are piss and wind and won’t move despite socialist leaning of most of the country.
Another Ag related chap I know over there he’s shifted to SD.

Interesting and she was a cracker person.
She still employs all here people etc etc.

If I lived in any other province but Alberta, I would make the move without hesitation.

The number of business people from across the country who are moving to the US or at least to Alberta, is growing by the day.

With every new migrant getting planted in Alberta, the blue spot changes to red.

Here is what you get if you move to the US under tRump:

"To make up for some of the lost tax revenue, the Republicans focused on changes to Medicaid and the food stamps program, largely by imposing work requirements on many of those receiving benefits. There’s also a massive rollback of green energy tax breaks from the Biden-era Inflation Reduction Act.

Additionally, the package tacks on $350-billion in new spending, with about $150-billion going to the Pentagon, including for the president’s new “ Golden Dome” defence shield, and the rest for Trump’s mass deportation and border security agenda.

All told, the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office estimates 8.6 million fewer people would have health care coverage and 3 million less people a month would have SNAP food stamps benefits with the proposed changes.

The CBO said the tax provisions would increase federal deficits by $3.8-trillion over the decade, while the changes to Medicaid, food stamps and other services would tally $1-trillion in reduced spending. The lowest-income households in the U.S. would see their resources drop, while the highest ones would see a boost, it said."

Missing the point that an American democrat is further right than a Canadian Conservative.

The grass is greener flaw applies to many aspects of life.

We get mad. We feel unheard. We feel unappreciated. We feel unwelcome. We feel powerless. We decide it’s better on the other side of the fence.

                    Doesn't mean it is.

Theres absolutely no convincing rational to me saying someone is transitioning to the States, let’s all go. Tell me their story in 15 years, that will tell me if it was a worthwhile decision, and it would have to be compared to a similar situation that stayed in Canada and wasn’t disrupted.

Probably somewhere in that tale would be a sentence along the lines of “They were successful because they made themselves so” which can still be applicable to Canada. People get caught up in that they can’t make themselves successful here anymore. They say it’s because it’s tilted towards immigrants or minorities or liberals. Ask them if they’ve looked for grants. Ask them if they’ve applied for CAP funding. Ask them if they are friends with anyone who is less rabidly conservative.

Those answers will almost always give you a good impression on WHY they think the grass will be so much better on the other side.
