But will have limited uptake in most areas in Canada until proven extended rage during the cold winter months and some miracle of a massive increase in charging stations , especially in Rural Canada .
Also without collapsing the current power grid when needed most in 30-40c below weather .
Forcing EV’s onto Canadians before that’s all in place will be a complete disaster and a fool headed fairy tail .

Ranchers are protecting their cheap leases, I wouldn't want a coal mine on my doorstep either but if you don't own the land... I have been forced to do things I wouldn't have without being on the end of government incompetence/corruption. Good luck to them.

Simple solution to the NIMBY issue.

Present a tax bill to all those opposed to any development.

A tax bill ??????equivalent to all of the lost revenue from the refused development. Every year for the expected life of the proposed development

Federal and provincial taxes , property taxes, royalties, taxes from all the jobs that didn't happen.

In the current system, there is no cost to the individual when opposing projects which benefit society as a whole.

China is leading the way on lower cost EVs. They offer lower cost EVs while North America has focused on overpriced luxury vehicles including EVs.

The big 3 pickup market, which is the most profitable segment, are heavily marketed to consumers who don't need one.

If Trump wants to kill our auto industry we might as well let the Chinese build vehicles here in exchange for dropping tariffs on canola meal and oil.

All the Japanese auto makers in Canada are sticking with Canada for now.

Like it or not China is the centre of world manufacturing and innovation. They have registered more than 40,000 patents while the US has registered less than 5000 patents in the auto sector.

Trump figured out Apple I Phones will never be made in the US. To do so would be a giant mistake. There is no capacity in the US to manufacturer many products on the scale and quality of China.

It was US companies who moved their manufacturing to China.
