They were part of the commonwealth also.
They decided there was no reason to have British royalty as there head of state.
Kind of tipped it when Charles became their king.

If the Alberta question was "Do you want to become a Republic" I suspect they might get a little more attention?

Apparently calling an election during the middle of multiple liberal scandals was a very good strategy. It seems the media and the public and the opposition have completely forgotten.
