The TMX as a construction project was a typical government FUBAR.
They sent the crews home for every bird nest and tadpole.
Half a dozen paid professional protesters could stop progress for months.
Stories of waste and inefficiencies on the construction site were almost unbelievable.


Kinder Morgan is a strong, viable pipeline company that had plans to twin their existing pipeline with an initial budget of $5.4 billion. That ballooned to $7.4 billion as they encountered seemingly insurmountable regulatory delays in their plan to lay a pipe beside an existing one.
KM is a $62 billion company that operates 79,000 miles of pipeline and 172 terminals with 11000 employees. Their share value rose 48% y/y so not a weak mismanaged company.
They don't have any pipelines in Canada.
They still build pipelines .

They would be a good company to have operating in Canada building pipelines.
But Canada doesn't need or build pipelines. That was the message with the continuous delays and that's the message today. Also the message with the time and cost overruns on the government run TMX.
