Now that is revisionist history. Prohibition ended in the 1920s. And you are giving Trudeau credit for that policy?

Grain farmer wanted to repeal everything that Trudeau did. One of the first things Trudeau did was legalize pot. Not alcohol. That was about a century earlier

Turd brought in social programs because he made the poor people so poor they can't afford food, rent, houses, so he threw them a bone to make them feel better.

PP has clearly said he will keep childcare, pharmacare and dental care programs which are good social and economic policy.

Meanwhile south of the border tRump is doing his best to crash the US economy with a trade war that almost every economist said is bonkers. Even his hero Mckinley changed his mind on the stupidity of tariffs.

The US has mountains of debt and higher debt to GDP ratio than Canada. And tariffs will cause a recession that will make replacing tax cuts for the rich with tariffs even a stupider idea.

China could easily send the bond market into a spiral and raise interest rates for the US that will make their mountains of debt into a bigger liability than it already was.

Many investors are fleeing the US and looking for safer investments elsewhere. tRump is playing with fire and the 2026 mid terms are coming quickly.

Now he is in a battle with the courts, the universities and just about every pillar of the american institutions.

With the trade war, the attack on the rule of law and the constitution, along with all the on again off again uncertainty, investors are spooked even more.

Can a full blown constitutional crisis be far away?

If you want an example of how to quickly trash a brand or country just watch dTrump and Musk and their far right billionaire friends.

Musk in a rare moment of lucidity calls tRump's senior economic advisor, Peter Navarro an "idiot and as dumb as a bag of bricks"! No doubt quietly there are a long list of Republicans that are doing the same!

Putin, Kim Jong Un and China are smiling!

Chuck2, interesting to note Peter Navarro received his PHD in Economics from Harvard in 1986, Mark Carney received a Bachelors degree in Economics from Harvard in 1988. Small world eh?
