Rightly or wrongly in 2021 the Liberals legally used the Canada Evidence Act to not release cabinet discussions on a firearm ban. Much a do about nothing.
Not much of an issue except for the very small minority of gun owners and their lobbyists who are opposed to more gun laws.
But the convicted felon tRump has repeatedly ignored numerous much more serious court orders and injunctions that deal with the justice system and their round up of immigrants for deportation without due process.
Rounding up anybody they want without a hearing and shipping them off to a concentration prison? Sounds a lot like what was done in Nazi Germany.
The Supreme Court ruled on one case and all of sudden impotent Trump can't get the man back? Sure Donny you can't demand the President of El Salvador send him back! LOL
"President Donald Trump on Tuesday acknowledged that he could secure the return of Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia, a Maryland man who was wrongly deported to El Salvador last month but refuses to do so.
The comments appear to contradict previous remarks made by him and his top aides who say the US does not have the ability to return Abrego Garcia because he is in the custody of a foreign government, despite the Supreme Court’s ruling that the Trump administration must “facilitate” his return."
?
"In a surprise move 10 days before a deadline to produce the material, the government served notice this week that it will not comply with a Federal Court order to provide cabinet documents and records behind the sudden imposition of the sweeping firearm ban.
Instead, the government has turned to a section of the Canada Evidence Act that can prevent access by courts to cabinet documents, memos and other material to keep information from cabinet deliberations confidential.
The move sparked a storm among firearm owners and groups who began filing court challenges soon after the Liberals enacted the ban without notice on May 1, 2020. The requests for government documents behind the ban were filed early in the case and the government denied the requests last September on cabinet confidence grounds."
