Probably just a coincidence that the graph of Canada versus US GDP diverged so drastically starting 9 years ago.
I highly doubt Chuck Cherry picked that date. That would be out of character for him/her

The decline in GDP is linked to the decline in oil prices that started when Harper was in power in 2014. So it must be Harper's fault that world oil prices declined after the oil boom which cost consumers a lot.

And that boom drove up the loony and and inflation that resulted in many lost manufacturing jobs in Canada. Alberta boomed but Ontario and Quebec lost jobs because of the petro loony.

Where do you get this stuff Chuck?

5 minutes ago you said the oil industry was making record profits

"Oil companies have made record profits on the backs of consumers in recent years"

Ontario and Quebec lost manufacturing jobs because of the oil industry?

Where did they go? Hint: it starts with a C and ends with hina.

It is encouraging to see you acknowledge the brain drain from Canada to the US.

Do you think that trend will improve or accelerate under another anti business Liberal government, while the US has a business friendly government?

Did you guys already forget about the oil boom and high looney during the last of the Harper PP years?

Oil prices and inflation were driving western Canada and hurting exporters.

That was well reported on the national networks.
When Trump was elected they had a story about ever day about some VIP saying they were leaving for Canada.
                    Mostly from Hollywood.
Not sure that qualified as a brain drain?

We're not counting the illegal's with criminal records are we?
They have excellent street smarts to take advantage of all the opportunity here.

Lutnick on Tuesday teased that the Trump administration has reached its first trade deal, but said it was not fully finalized and declined to name the country involved.

Yet Trump told Time Magazine “I’ve made 200 deals,”?? when Trump was asked he refused to say with which countries.

Common thread they are both full of shit, but since Trump is POTUS he gets to be the bigger B.S'er

Just another day of Market Manipulation, one day up next day down because of White House B.S. statements.

Have any of you 51st Staters gone out and bought your Gold Card now that the Liberals are in for another 4 years?
