A lot of people seem to be assuming that this is a temporary aberration. All we have to do is wait out this regime, and everything will return to normal after the next US election.

Based on the fact that Biden did not reverse any of Trump's trade policies, he only made them official, I don't think that is a safe assumption to make.

This is the new normal. And it is apolitical.

      You have a point
The EU has barriers to our products.
Definitely not the first or last rodeo with China.

Listening to radio lately, I'd say trump fixation has been used very effectively to spread and maintain fear to a population who doesn't read beyond the headlines.

No question trump is a home wrecker. But we consistently overlook EU. And I bet they're selling out of champagne in Beijing.
Farma not wrong about the collective sigh of relief in 4 years however.

The mid-terms may not be kind to the current Republican government.

But I think we better focus on Canada's very own internal threat.

I'm not completely averse to some of the Republican policies.
        Like cleaning up government waste.
Ditching DEI in favor of qualified hires.
        Scrapping the sickening woke shit.
Or demanding higher defense spending by the chronic under funding of some fellow NATO members.

....but there may be drawbacks if you want to be the World's economic and military superpower. ....and have one of the World's largest economies.

The use of tariffs at this level is apolitical? LOL

So Trump is not making a political move with tariffs? Wow that is really lame and inaccurate comment.

Biden used targeted tariffs and and used the inflation reduction act to attract investment without screwing world stock markets and trade on a grand scale. The US is heading into a recession with higher inflation.

You must really live in some kind of news and information vacuum!

Trumps plans are only defended by ass kissers now because nobody thinks this is a good plan.

Which of Trump's isolationist trade policies did Biden reverse?

So A5 are you going to keep defending the orange plague that is crashing the economy and raising inflation A5?

Do you really think Trump's plan is a good idea? Yes or no? And don't run away!

If you don't answer that question then just eff off and stop wasting our time!

So in other words, you are acknowledging that the Biden administration did not reverse any of the Trump trade policies from the first time around.

Yes or no do you think Trumps plan is a good one? Don't keep changing the subject!

Why are you so scared to answer?

Why didn't you reply with this answer?

'The only politician who has an actual concrete plan for economic prosperity. And even generously offered to let Canada join in on the party after we ruined our own economy.'

Trump signed the CUSMA and declared it was the best trade deal ever.

Biden targeted tariffs and incentives in a way that was much less damaging to allies and trading partners and the world economy.

There is no legitimate comparison with what Trump is doing now!

Only A5 won't answer the question! He is lame and weak!
