A lot of people seem to be assuming that this is a temporary aberration. All we have to do is wait out this regime, and everything will return to normal after the next US election.

Based on the fact that Biden did not reverse any of Trump's trade policies, he only made them official, I don't think that is a safe assumption to make.

Biden used targeted tariffs and and used the inflation reduction act to attract investment without screwing world stock markets and trade on a grand scale. The US is heading into a recession with higher inflation.

Biden targeted tariffs and incentives in a way that was much less damaging to allies and trading partners and the world economy.
