Then the provinces should raise social security payments to end homelessness.

Are you in favour of that trader joe? Because conservative governments keep social payments low on purpose.

Are you in favour of stiffer regulations on pollution and spending more on reserves for clean water? Because Conservative governments are not in favour.

And its the Conservatives who are residential school denialists not the Liberals!

Nobody believes you really care about First nations welfare Grain farmer! LOL

Might be a touch naive about what is actually happening?

If only you had told policy makers that it was that easy to end homelessness a long time ago.
So more money in the hands of an addict with mental health issues will solve their mental health issues and end their addiction.

Is that why when a drug addict steals property and sells it, they always use that money to treat their addiction?

Who out West isn't in favor of more provincial autonomy.
            I agree with Chuck.
Let's start by stopping generational transfer payments to Upper and Lower Canada and spend it here.

Any homeless folks I see around town are cracked out more than not. Chicken or egg first question here but drugs look to be the culprit. I swear they get bussed in from other places. Other day I was in town there was a myriad of people wandering around with backpacks looking lost. This is a city of 30000 people with a downtown that has been turned into a no go zone after dark. Increasing social aid which I am aware these people are already getting will only perpetuate their problems.

To juxtapose your argument if you think social aid payments are kept purposely low by conservatives then why is it the liberals who have been in power a lot more years than conservatives since confederation maintain the status quo relationship with First Nations, even fighting them tooth and nail in the courts over rights to control their social services for their own children as well as treaty obligations? Heck 9 plus years of liberal government and clean drinking water issues have hardly been resolved. First Nations have some issues with drugs they want to clean up and where the hell is the help for that?

I follow a guy on twitter who lives down in the Tenderloin in San Francisco
                  @war24182236 JJ Smith
Actually talks to the people and they often tell him their story.

He spends his days trying to get people out of there.
Especially young kids who show up and get sucked in.

He says politicians will always use the homeless problem as The dog ate my homework excuse.

From his observation a lot who end up there came as drug tourists.
They were probably users when they came but get out of control with the easy access and total immersion.

Seems to me that would be your observation locally?
Lots come in from the local rez's here.
They aren't technically homeless as they can catch a ride home?

Now this is secondhand information but someone who works in the bank. These people are bussed in from all over. Sometimes Edmonton, Saskatoon, even BC. They all have cell phones, and get social assistance cheques which they cash at the banks. From what I see they are primarily white. For sure there are First Nations people there as well but mostly white folks from parts unknown. They don’t just up and appear like Santa Claus and 30 of them don’t all hitch hike here at the same time. There is an effort to bus them out of a city when taxing the resources. It’s like hauling out nuisance polar bears at Churchill.
