    Solar and Wind are expensive

    In the Financial Post: financialpost.com/opinion/solar-wind-power-expensive?tbref=hp.
Interesting article. Backs up what AB5 has always said that jurisdictions with higher amounts of wind and solar have higher costs of electricity. Certainly when the sun is shining and the wind is blowing electricity is cheap, it is when the wind stops or at night that costs skyrocket. The article is a very interesting read. And Chuck2, Bjorn Lomberg is not a climate change denier lol.

So if Bjorn Lomberg is an expert and not a climate change denier why are there so many climate change deniers on Agrisilly?

Still no explanation as what is the cause of higher prices in all those numerous jurisdictions? Correlation is not causation. And making such broad sweeping generalizations is bound to be wrong. Alberta is a case in point.

In Alberta several energy economists identified the deregulated energy market and the with holding of supply as the cause of the often very high electricity prices in Alberta.
They also said that the increased supply of renewables reduces the wholesale cost.
So the cause in Alberta is not renewable capacity!

On our farm even with the higher initial costs of a small scale farm sized solar system our electricity prices are well below the cost of Sask Powers farm rate.

At the utility scale the LCOE of new capacity for solar and wind are relatively very low.

Its not one or the other you can run both and the solar and wind have no fuel costs! A major saving.

Furrow, how do you know what is happening in all the European countries in regards to their electricity?

What about Alberta A5? Do you deny economic withholding of the supply in your deregulated market is driving up prices?

And why do red states like Texas and North Dakota have so many renewables if they are too expensive and don't work?

            Don't run away A5!

So if Bjorn Lomberg is not a climate change denier then he must agree that human caused climate change is real.

So how come you don't agree with him on that point?

In which case he must also think we should reduce fossil fuel emissions. So how do you do that with no increased cost in a world that is needing more electricity?

How many times do we have to state that currently its not renewables vs fossil fuels!

We are going to need all sources of supply to reduce emissions and pollution. We can have multiple forms of generation all working together.

But only the climate change deniers think renewables don't work in North Dakota and Texas! LOL

Make up your mind. In your first post in this thread you made multiple claims about solar and wind being cheaper.
Now you acknowledge that replacing fossil fuels with renewables will not be cheaper.
