We certainly don't want to go back several decades to your bigoted and far right views of some one who thinks Trump is great!

Got your Trump flag flying in public Crop?

dude a new 3/4 ton truck now is triple the price from back in 2005 , our grain certainly is not triple the price , truck is just a simple example that you may understand , but i doubt it
, lots of stuff same , wont waste my time telling you how i got started farming , but i know their would not be a hope now doing what i done back then , having a lot of Canadian monopoly money don't make you better off

Correct, 20 years ago we were still burdened by the CWB.

Haven't seen a modest house built in the country for 25 years.
A new combine is still a quarter of land.
Economy of scale allows all the wives to drive Denalis now.
If you've survived this far, farming is nobility class now. Far more people wanting a piece of the action now than 30 years ago.
My mother washed eggs to buy my glasses. Guaranteed that's not happening now.
If your sole income is farming today, you're in the top 10%.

Don’t see that much around here , but we have never been in big crop country.
just get enough to get by most times.
we in 10% big crop (above provincial average) area .
I would say 75% of farms here fall below that 10% group .
Not impoverished but certainly not like other areas .

Understood. Just a theory, correct me if I'm wrong. Uncertain crop country leads eventually to lower fixed costs to survive. Larger holdings with lower per acre values.

A modest family income is $100000 before tax, all expenses counted.
                    Look around and count.

I see no full time farm family with less standard of living than someone in town on $100k. Many on less.
Top ten percent threshold is $106700.

                    Apologies if not communicating effectively.

Just a comment on whether or not we're better off than a generation ago.

so who thinks its easier now to start into grain farming with a pretty modest cash reserve and build up than it was 20 years ago ?
established multi generation farms are in a different category altogether , always have been
