My niece's boyfriend(commonlaw) who lives in Saskatoon is an EMT responder. He knows the scope of the problem. Obviously it's not good.

Anecdotally, did law enforcement(police and courts) ever stomp out marijuana, heroine, cocaine, meth, or any other illegal street drug? I realize fentynol is a whole new level of lethal but I doubt they will ever get it completely under control if they never managed to stop all of fentynol's precursors.

They likely need to focus on EVERY step/level of the problem, from the guy injecting it into himself, all the way up to manufacturing it, and EVERYONE in between. Convictions and sentences that stick, not catch and release or early parole. And maybe no Club-Med prison stays. Soft on crime?

Yes you’d have to be naive to believe tariffs are about fentanyl. At the same time Canada should bone up and gets drugs and money laundering under control but seems current governments inaction makes them party to the criminal activity. Simple enough start is to pass some rico legislation. Laundering is a real problem from Vancouver real estate, casinos, equipment auctions, and farmland investment. Goes beyond drug money. Even if you believe Trump is a Russian asset how do you think his handlers were buying his loyalty? Why is David Eby reluctant to open an investigation into election fraud? NDP in Sask had no problem calling for recount and investigation when my riding was won by the Sask party with a35 vote margin. One of your friends was a complete douche about it as I remember. Goes both ways. If smith is proven to be wrong nail her up against the wall but nail Eby Trudeau or Carny up there too if proven guilty.
