Nova Scotia's premier Tim Houston (54 year old account) has called an election for Nov 28,2024 and has this to say about PP and his CPC party.

"There is no federal equivalent to the Nova Scotia PC party … there is a Conservative Party of Canada. That's a completely different party with a different leader. I am not a member of that party. I have no intention of inviting the leader of the Conservative Party of Canada to campaign with me."

You just have to read some of the posts on Agriville to know exactly where premier Houston's statement is coming from.

Great to see that. Now if the provincial NDP’s would decouple and distance themselves from the federal train wreck they would have some trust and credibility to not having to fall in line with those lunatics.

Not as easily done as the PC parties provincially and federally have done with name changes and amalgamations every other year.

Provincially the Liberal party of Manitoba has one seat, so it's dead in the water.

The name change and amalgamation has worked out very well in Saskatchewan.

In 1999 Roy Romanoff took 1/2 the seats and formed government with less than 39% of the votes.
The NDP was considered the natural governing party when 60% of the population voted for a center right alternative?
Very rarely have more than 45% of the people voted for the NDP but they still won many elections.

If you had an amalgamation of the center right you wouldn't have an NDP government in Manitoba.

. Honestly I hate to see Canadian politics evolve/devolve into 2 horse races but seems the way it goes. Sask politics the liberals were the spoiler but after the 99’ election when Melenchuck sucked Romanows **** or maybe the other way around the liberal party became irrelevant with the Sask party being a union of Pc’s and Liberals who weren’t willing to get on their knees. NDP is the only viable adversary to conservative parties in western Canada. There is no room for the liberals as each side has figuratively ate their lunch at the centre. That is why the provincial NDP’s if they want to truly be representative and hope of forming government long term need to distance themselves from the federal wing as they are nuts. Sure there are provincial members completely fubar but if they wish to ever get anywhere and represent anyone they need to change. Otherwise they fall back and another movement will come along which takes their space.

I see Moe changed his election priorities and decided to consult with school boards on the change room issues first! Progress.

He is in a much weaker position with a large well financed NDP opposition who will raise a lot of hell if he keeps catering to social cons and bigots.
