Irrigation mitigates only one production risk. If it's the only risk the investment might be a good one. Other risks like frost, hail, early winter remain. Market risks are not affected. If soil condition and chemistry are agreeable, alternative crops could be possible.

So the "free market" Sask Party wants to pick winners and losers with taxpayers dollars?
Would any business make this scale investment based on no feasibility study or business plan? Nope.
If spending $1.4 billion is such a good idea show us the numbers.
Then we can decide if its a good investment before they start work and spending more taxpayers money.

There is no example of a “free market” left anywhere. People like you have wanted government involved in everyday lives of all segments. Congradulations.

And the oil companies and well off farmers are still getting a lot of handouts and subsidies from taxpayers!

And supply managed farmers are benefiting from steep import tarrifs and cost of production calculations in their supply managed sectors which all consumers pay for.
And Poilievre and the CPC still support supply management and state intervention?
