    Les Henry

Ag has lost an icon with the passing of Les Henry
I have his book and go to it often.
Always enjoyed his contributions to Grain News.
Spent his whole life helping agricultural and farmers.

When I started on this grain farming adventure, and didn't even know what I didn't know about soil and nutrients, I contacted Les and bought his book.
Later on, I had a few emails and phone calls with Les with problems specific to our gray wooden soils, he was a tremendous resource and very willing to help.
I was just thinking this spring, I should call him back and update on all the progress we have made with our soils, to thank him again for generously sharing his time to help me.
Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today.

Read every article he wrote in grainnews. Those were the days when he and Alf Bryan, and even the old Lefty Bill Dascovitch contributed. Les you will be missed.

Sorry to hear of his passing. I read his articles in Grainews going back to the earliest days of that paper. He also helped me identify a catalogue house I grew up in that I asked about after reading his book about Eaton catalogue houses. RIP Les.

Was always a first read in grainews, learned a lot about soil. Will always remember his aspargus that you could see from space.

He was smart and did outstanding research and was full of common sense. Traced prairie temp back as far as was recorded and could find no indication that temps were rising. Straight shooter that told like he found it.
We need more like him in high positions.

Les Henry provided lots of great information on soils and farming and will be missed.

But as a retired soil scientist he was not in the game outside his field of expertise.

As a scientist he should have known that his very selective facts, interpretation and climate change denial "opinions" on climate change wouldn't stand up to peer review.

And its bad form for a scientist to make such claims outside his area of expertise.

You waited almost a week before slandering the deceased. Perhaps you are actually learning.
                  I won't say what I really think.

He was a real scientist that's why he knows the climate cult club is a hoax
