Even if one were to take the view that subsidized public transit is a worthwhile investment. And I think that case can be made.
One then needs to ask, which would you invest in first? Will subsidize public transit in any way generate Capital which could be invested in drilling for oil? Or would drilling for oil generate Capital which could be invested into public transit?

This question is of course for the marxists on here. The answer is obvious to anyone else.
