Axe the facts PP, wants to put all the drug addicts in jail at an enormous taxpayers expense?

What's his plan to solve the homeless problem, lack of addictions treatment and mental health care?

Overdose deaths increased everywhere including all the provinces that didn't try decriminalization of small amounts like BC.

Blaming Trudeau for all the overdose deaths is just plain stupidity from the CPC and PP.

It was a program put in place by BC.

It's a mental health crisis not a justice issue! And harm reduction to keep people alive is an important part of the strategy to reduce deaths and the associated crime along with more treatment programs.

Do you really think more charges for possession will solve the addiction and overdose problem? Not a chance untill you solve all the other issues that go with addiction.

But the CPC will tinker away and have little to show for their rhetoric.

Trudeau legalized and commercialized the gateway drug cannibas. If you think that drug is harmless, go have a conversation with someone does that sh8t every day. Brain dead. Kids are vaping that shit too.

Drug possession is a federal criminal offense chuck. BC didnt do this alone. Whacko cracko Trudeau was all over this and when Elbys polls crashed he rushed to reverse it, but the fed govt wont recriminalize it.

Canadas homeless problem is caused by immigration and inflation which are both federal policy.

Open up all those containers coming into our ports and see whats in there for a start.

You better start building more prisons if you want to put all drug users in prison. Might as well throw alcoholics in too, Alcohol should be illegal too.

What constructive solutions do you propose? Can we at least agree that the status quo is unacceptable?

I don't agree with punishing the users. But the consequences for anyone upstream from there need to be so prohibitively harsh that no one would take the risk of importing, trafficking, dealing, selling, or making these products.

Cut off supply and demand will follow. Not lock up, but forcable detox. A month in the tank with nothing but baloney sandwiches and some side of the road clean up detail should do the trick.

Harsh times call for harsh measures, or else we are going to have 12yr olds shooting and smoking that sht.

If 1000 stolen cars a month are going through our container ports, imagine whats coming in.

Already happening out on the Rez.

The gangs are taking over and are happy to use children as foot soldiers.
Once those gangs get entrenched there it may be impossible to get them out.
There was a 70 pound Cocaine bust in Prince Albert. Who fronts that to a guy in a trailer court?
Only a matter of time till the start buying Uzi's from the Hells Angels.

Our justice system is collapsing. What we see is a small part of it.

War on drugs was tried in U.S. Guess how that turned out. You cannot outlaw human nature. Did prohibition end alcoholism? More criminalization seems to lead to more crime. Decriminalization seems to be a lesser evil. A regulated drug supply and treatment program is the probable solution, but it is the hardest to accept and institute.

                        I hear that from progressives.

                        What are you comparing to?

Do you see what we have now as a improvement?

                          "A regulated drug supply"

Cartels would slit throats and carry right on. It truly is WAR!

I wonder how much of the current soft on crime, anything goes drug policies is because our politicians and policy makers have already been captured by organized crime?

Yes you need to fix the root of the problem which is difficult but in the meantime you need to crackdown on the supply and resulting criminality. It’s a multi pronged approach.

There is no easy solution. If there was , it would have been done.
