Taxes are not lost. They pay for healthcare, roads and education among other things.

Tell us where you would rather live and farm that has no taxes?

Would you rather have a society where everyone does reasonably well or a society where there are a lot of poor people and just a few rich who have most of the wealth and power?

Taxes are not all lost yes , but lots is wasted with no respect to hardworking taxpayers , you need enough left to survive after , not the case for many in this country anymore , more homeless and behind on mortgages than ever ,

Ensure that single parents and disadvantaged people have an adequate income, housing, child care and employment so that their children can succeed at school and go on to training and education that will give them a much better chance at succeeding.

A lot of the people who don't take advantage of their opportunities, have addictions, mental health and health issues. Many of the unemployed are not employable for a variety of reasons.

So we also need to step up and ensure that we don't cast them off and fail in treating their issues.

And calling disadvantaged people as all "low life's" who don't want to work is wrong. Many of them can't work and afford childcare. So its easier to stay at home.

But if you provide childcare and other support, many will choose to go back to school or get a job.

He has noble and just goals.
I know a few single mothers and have known addicts and victims of child abuse. As well as people with mental issues. I'm sure they're in your town also.
But without acknowledging the sense of entitlement in all walks of life, the numbers will grow.
Equal income for all won't change that.

Giving people money doesn’t work. If you’re going to divert my taxes towards helping less fortunate, then spend it to give them discounted services, not equal income.

Thomas Sowell has an excellent example of why this doesn't work.
In spite of all the advances in medical technology including prosthesis etc, and decline in physical labor, the number of people on disability keeps increasing ever since disability became available. It should have been the opposite considering the technological advances and less physically intensive labor.
But the availability of taking the easy road Trump's all the other factors.

The minimum income was tried in an experiment in Manitoba. Surprisingly ,it was successful. Less costly to do this than have a hodgepodge of social programs with a lot of bureaucracy. Human nature is more resilient than you might think. Your hard earned dollars are already being spent supporting low income earners.

A minimum income is not the same as equality of income. I have no problem with people unable to work having a minimum source of income.

But don’t start telling me, or others, that they have the right to 80,000+ because others make that through their careers and income should be equal.

A minimum income is not going to support a good standard of living. That’s like saying minimum wage lets people live comfortably. Anyone supplied a minimum income would need access to discounted services. They would be capsized by the first dental visit if they didn’t.
