More "we are the only ones who work hard" arguments from subsidized farmers compliments of all those other lazy tax payers?

The irony runs deep, like the sewage on Agrislly!

Gosh what is ironic is you espouse your views when what made you was the work of your previous generations. You get to browbeat folks here and be a sanctimonious twat but if dad and grandpa didn’t bust their arses to provide the golden child with a decent education you’d be like every other stiff busting their balls to survive. Quit pitting farmers with some intergenerational wealth against everyone else because you’re the biggest benefactor of it. You obviously live in a self imposed bubble because a pile of folks farming hold down other employment to make ends meet. Good for you if you can live comfortable and jet around the world like the champagne socialist you are but the rest of us have to grind away to make things work.

I was thinking it’s probably 20% that actually meaningfully contribute towards the rest of the country, it’s becoming a huge burden for the 20%….

          That probably isn't far off.

As I posted above, the Canadian taxpayers says only 18.4 million taxpayers out of 40 million canadians. That is 46%. Of that 18.4 million, over 21% of those are civil servants. So we're down to 36% of Canadians paying taxes.

If you were to break it down further, I assume the 80/20 rule probably applies even within that group.

So what do you think of Moe chosing a few farmers to invest public money in 1.2 million per quarter irrigation.Thought socialism was when governments put up cash for what is supose to help everyone in the end.To the Sask party it is only socialism when someone else gets the cash.

That is a great example of what aboutism again. Didn't we just have this discussion?

I'm not a Saskatchewan resident, I don't know enough about the situation to have an informed opinion. The way bucket presents the facts, it doesn't look good. But on the other side, I'm not sure how Farmers themselves could tackle an infrastructure project of that size without public involvement.
How do you think it should be handled?

The ndp spudco scandal was about as bad. These irrigation projects need a bunch more boxes to be checked if they will be a true success benefiting not only the farmers but encouraging spin offs which benefit everyone around. I completely agree as I don’t think it passes the smell test until some defined spinoffs are presented. The potato thing failed because of typical ndp involvement and mismanagement well known in crown corporations at the time. I don’t know where you live but assume you’re a southern rat so wouldn’t be too aware of the plan to dam the north Sask at Highgate. Don’t exactly know feasibility. Some reports said it was and others said not but a project like that which could give us more hydro power, a water reservoir for irrigation and domestic use would be a boon for everyone unlike expanding irrigation using a presently irrigated out of reservoir.

So in the end if public money has spin off to help everyone it is fine.Has the Sask Party moved that far left?Or is it socialism when someone else gets the cash and capitalism when the cash and benefits comes your way? If they are doing it to secure cheap food than 100% as left as you can go.

Public money is way better off investing towards infrastructure and the production of food than sending it out towards Ukraine or worse yet, the 650 billion that Trudeau blew out his ass!

Trouble is infrastructure in Healthcare and education has fell behind and details on cost sharing of the project should be announced.Sask party can not be real proud of the project as no mention in their political ads.

Can you imagine trying to run a farm or private business like the federal government ??
it would be a complete and utter economic disaster instantly

Healthcare and education have become complete bloated upper management structures, like most government union run situations.
Leaving the ground force workers little to deal with . The money is there, it’s all the incredibly overloaded upper useless management that sucks all the funding up leaving the hard working Doctors , nurses and base line teachers with SFA to work with
absolutely no different than all government institutions Federal or provincial

Ambulances not available because they are lined up waiting for a bed so they can unload and leave.Scott Moe says no worries more ambulanceswill soon be available.kind of like a farmer still using a 6 inch auger and thinks another semi will help keep the combines running.

I don't think this even requires a comment:
Stop calling us corrupt, Deputy Gov't House Leader @MarkGerretsen tells MPs, demands a Speaker's order banishing "corrupt" adjective from parliamentary debates after 157 years.
