    Home Water Descalers

Amazon sells descalers with electro-magnetic coils that wrap around incoming water line. Has anyone tried this method of water softening?

Reverse Osmosis can’t be beat for drinking water…. Wonderful drinking quality!

Except RO is totally devoid of minerals we need, it's actually acidic, real bad for health. It eats copper pipes, maybe our insides. Alkaline water is beneficial.

RO is awful and wastes a lot of water. Best systems still waste 25%. We have high iron and sulphur in our water and have an iron system in the pumphouse. Have a softener in the house to take care of the calcium. Have had the same softener for coming 14 years. Probably jinxing myself. I’m a firm believer in properly removing the iron before it hits the softener. Your softener will use less salt and last a lot longer. My folks water is about the same and they use less but go through more salt and softeners, and the water still sucks.

We haul/use Fosston water for cooking/drinking...rated one of the best with NO treatments. Town adds Chlorine, we filter that at home, just excellent! Dugout water for house, aerated, no smell, no sediment, no softener...life is simple.

Neighbors daughter a few years back suddenly got very sick and almost died. It was a mystery. Tests showed signs of kidney damage, which then led to a water quality research on there rural water consumption which apparently can have a big affect on kidneys. Im not going to get into all the details and they do not figure it was the water, but after he did a extensive study up on drinking water and advice from several physicians and water experts, the general conclusion was that RO water systems needs fairly good water to work properly, but still by far the healthiest water to drink. YES it does take out the minerals, but a well balanced diet will compensate for that, and here was the interesting part. If you are still concerned about the lack of minerals in RO water, a small handful of cashews two three times a week will put by far more minerals back into your body than what a RO system takes out.
