I have spent enough winters wrestling with ICE equipment and vehicles to know the severe limitations they have at -40 or worse. And I have the frost bitten fingers as evidence of the battles.
EV's have many advantages at these temperatures, there are no fluids to warm up, it doesn't require heat to start combustion etc. Range, cabin heat and charging ability obviously are not among the advantages.
But the difference is that with some prior planning and good maintenance, a gas or diesel vehicle can and does start and function at any temperature. A good battery(s), a functional block heater/oil pan heater/transmission heater etc. the right grade of oil and fuel, and the ICE will start.
From what I'm seeing, you are out of options if it is too cold for the charger to charge an EV.

I thought maybe the fall in used Tesla prices was just reflecting the overall lower used vehicle market.
So I checked on used F150's over the same time span. Exactly the same as they were in Aug 22

So much for the argument that EVs are only for rich people. Luxury pickup trucks for suburbanites and other people who don't need them are too.

No wonder every second add is for luxury pickups and the big 3 make a lot more profit upselling the dream.

Have you ever noticed how many of them are lined up and idling in the Tim Hortons drive through just so they can pickup a coffee and a box of tim bits?

Tons of carbon end up in our atmosphere, while kilograms of fat end up on their lazy asses.

And I drive a farm pickup when I need to.
