Isn't Chuck the poster who was advocating for redistributing wealth? Now in the next thread he is advocating for using tax dollars to give a raise to handful of elite who are already making more than $300,000 a year.

I believe that $313,000 is used to cover office expenses too, like nurse, receptionist, cleaning staff, office rent, utilities, licensure, equipment. Got any idea? Lop off at least half of $300,000 after upto 15 years of training for specialists, and exorbitant tuition fees.

The stat I found referred to that figure as the salary.
Which would indicate that is what the doctor's practice is paying him or herself.

Edit to add. I am not disputing that a doctor is worth that. I'm just trying to make fun of Chuck's hypocrisy.

That was Chuck's word from a different thread. I had asked him to elaborate on who he considers to be the elite few who aren't paying their fair share of taxes. He hasn't answered yet so I was trying again to find out what income level he considers to be the cut off.

The reason why we are spending less than the OECD on primary care is that the provinces are underfunding primary care to balance the books. They don't want to put enough money into training enough healthcare workers and doctors and paying them in a fair way. Family doctors are not getting enough fees for each visit that would attract them to family medicine.

They also don't put a priority on family medicine by making sure there are enough family doctors. So may of the ERs are full of people who could have been seen by a family doctor but they don't have one.

In resource rich provinces we can easily pay for much better primary healthcare that would reduce wait times. But no, the cheapskates who are responsible wont raise the revenue and as a consequence you can thank Curly Moe and Danny Smith for all the rural hospital closures.

The average doctor salary includes specialists and family doctors. And family doctors who practice family medicine receive much less.

Plus the provinces are underfunding post secondary health care training that led to a shortage.

We know that Canada spends much less on primary healthcare and as a result patients are overwhelming ERs with many cases that can be seen by family doctors.

And now Alberta wants to reduce the use of vaccines that prevent illness? Its a return to the dark ages!
