Lets not forget one thing: When Klein first got in he did not have "billions to play with"? In fact Alberta was in pretty rough shape just trying to pay the bills! Ralph campaigned on cutting spending...not on spending more...I doubt he could have been elected anywhere else but Alberta!
Love him or hate him he did get government back to sanity in his first term? A lot of people don't remember that?
You have to go back and look at who were the real clowns who got us into that mess? Getty gets the brunt of the blame although in fact he was doing his best to control spending? Lougheed was the bum who was like a drunken sailor and should go down as the worst premier in Albertas history! He gave away the store and squaundered our money....not Getty, not Klein!
The "old boys club" of big government socialists who control the PC party, eventually wrested control from Klein and got us back on the treadmill of enormous spending...so don't blame Ralph for that! Also of late we have a lot of immigrants from other parts of Canada who believe they have a devine right to the government tit!

I believe Ralph lost interest in his job a few years ago. Since that time he has allowed bureaucrats to run the show, and to put words in his mouth.

I look at Iris Evans and her well tutored answers to the recent issue surrounding the Third Way. Instead of saying the government listened to the people she had to go on and on about how much courage it took for the premier and caucus to bring forward the proposed legislation in the first place.

Dinning needs a good talking to behind the wood shed about his opinion on how health care should be delivered. His latest news letter to his masses indicates that he feels the Administrators of health regions should be just given the money and allowed to do with it as they see fit.

Obviously the man hasn't read the continuing care review, and realized that the most fragile of our citizens weren't looked after properly under the care of many of the health regions, when they did have the money to do so.

If his idea of government is to hand money to bureaucrats and turn them loose, things won't change if he is premier.

Manning would keep a lid on things, and I am sure be more conservative than all the rest put together.

Wilagrow..." The smugness is apparent in most of their public pronouncements and appearances.
I say, kick their asses out and run in a new crew."

You could have said the same about the federal Liberals??? Right! But you didn't!

It seems to me that there are quite a number of newer and younger MLA's in the PC party. We need a new leader that be exactly that ' a leader'.

Now, Stephen Harper has cracked the whip and made his caucus tow the line, then he is criticized in the media, and I would suspect that the has some problem children in his own party, but I do think he is on the right track and hopefully will be able to raise the bar as far as conduct of elected officials is concerned.

coppertop: yea, I like Harper! Everyday the guy looks more like a leader!
It is frustrating to see the slow progress the Conservatives are taking on many western issues but reality is, Harper walks a very fine line?
Lord help us if he isn't up to the task and fails! I doubt this country could take another 13 years of that gang of thieves we had in before?

Well Ivebinconned, I hereby state that the remarks that I made about the AB PCs would and could apply to the late federal Liberal gov't as well.

              There...feel better now?

              Cheers...
