It's a time management issue. This chicken aficionado claims to be a hermit. But once she gets a captive audience, the chicken stories never end, and neither of us accomplishes what we were supposed to be doing.

It's probably a fascinating topic on a slow cold today in january. Not so much during the height of seeding or harvest
As a chicken hoarding hermit myself I can explain this perfectly for you.

It takes a lot of energy to leave the yard - that’s why hermitting is a fabulous pastime. Once there’s a reason to force the energy build up to leave the yard, there is then a small window to cram all socializing into before you’re back at home and hermit mode kicks back in.

The true issue here is the inability to multitask. You need to learn to work and talk about chickens at the same time.

Don't you have kids that want $2.
We get farm fresh eggs from our next door neighbor. We also get to hear all of the chicken sounds every morning. I get my fill of chicken pictures between you and your sister.
That's enough chickens in my life.

And I'm not sure that my kids will be motivated for $2 a week. I've offered them 25 cents for trapping moles like I used to get, and apparently inflation happened since then.

I'll bet that's a real effective attention grabber on your dating profile and resume.

I have a nephew who is probably your long-lost brother. Birds of all kinds, goats, Highland cows, dogs, cats, horses, the works. There is no limit for animal lovers, everything is welcome.

Agstar, did you know that thanks to the miracles of modern medicine, people who were born humorless can now have a sense of humor surgically installed.
Just be aware that as with all medical procedures, there are risks.

In rare cases, the patient is afflicted with the devastating condition where they laugh out loud at the end of every sentence. They're unable to communicate without using emojis and cartoons.

This makes public communication nearly impossible.

There doesn't seem to be any cure for this debilitating condition.

The alternative is to be as succinct as you were in your previous post. Using an undefined abbreviation which apparently the readers don't understand, and possibly attempting to make a joke which no one gets.

Perhaps there is a happy medium somewhere in between?

Blaithin speculated that JD refers to the US vice president.

So I googled JD Vance and Chicken to see if he has something against chickens and that was the joke you were making. I don't see any connection.

People frequently don’t get my jokes or humour.

Doesn't stop them from being funny to me…
