Illegal un permitted drainage along with land clearing are making flooding worse.

And the province won't enforce its own regulations. Saskatchewan unlike other provinces has a pro drainage wetland policy that is not accountable nor good policy.

Welcome to the wild west where your upstream neighbors can drain their land on to yours and flood your land with out consequence!

With out drainage, and C&D ditches started 75 years ago here, there would NOT be farms, roads, towns...in the WET end of Sk.
Absolutely agree all must work together, and we did for last 75 years. I saw all the situations in my 35 Years on the local C&D. This ridiculous year is in some news comments, 1 in 200 year runoff, ZERO can be planned for that. Locally this is what happened in 2007. The EXTREME 1950's were community killing wet years. Even in 1930's IT WAS NOT dry here.

This is a big runoff but that’s more to do with the date. Cold April so no snow melt. May the sun is higher and average temps are higher so much quicker melt plus last fall there was a big rain and snow event that filled the soil profile then a cold winter with lots of snow all contribute to the major flooding.
This isn’t new for the Carrot River valley and has happened many times in my lifetime. I can see pictures in our local history book of extreme flooding and this was long before much drainage was done.
The roads and highways cause a lot of local flooding but I don’t know about you Chuck but I prefer to live in a developed World!

The old-timers around here said they used to Hay all of the sloughs every year. Then the roads went through and that was the end of that in many places.

Roads and drainage are making the problems worse.

Wetlands, grasslands and trees absorb and slow down water. They act like sponges and hold more water.

Once you clear the land, the water can run faster and drained wetlands that used to hold lots of water now send it downstream. Making the flood worse

If you let landowners do their own drainage willy nilly you end up with more flooding on someone else's land.

The province needs to enforce it's own regulations and force landowners to work together to protect wetlands and stop illegal drainage.

Wet land = ZERO income, zero farms, zero community...it's 1880's again! Never happening, rather be developed like seldom says!

Our 75 years WAS organized, legal, agreed on, STUPID weather happens. 73 years of great results, don't shoot society for a couple years!

I picked up the intact Adler yesterday morning before I ran it over. The second half of the matching set unfortunately was not seen in time. Two and a half giant holes in a Michelin radial.

Where were you first thing yesterday morning when I needed that good idea. I was trying to think of something big diameter made of rubber that I could use, a tarp strap never occurred to me.

Have used o-rings in the past when I didn't have tire plugs so I found a giant half inch cross section o-ring. But whatever kind of material it is made out of the glue doesn't stick and it's very slippery. While I was in the process of wedging more plugs in around it it shot back out again.

By that time I had enough plugs in to nearly fill the hole so I just kept adding plugs.

Let them set up under the heat of a trouble light

And they both held so far.

And of course, it's an inside dual and really good tire.

What am I going to use for a heat source when I run out of incandescent light bulbs
