Can use authority so yes good kochia control. They are hit or miss. In 2021 they podded early due to dry conditions. Then we had 2" rain in August about half reflowered grew waist high and still werent ready late october. Came off as sample due to immatures. Disease can be a big problem. Many hit em 4 times with fungi and the high seed rate doesnt make em cheap to grow, but if all the stars align....

Heard of mixing flax before in wheat as well. Supposed to be good for the microbial interactions in the soil. Covers and Co had a you tube video about it. Farmer in Manitoba found by accident his wheat yielded better in a spot where he buggered up mixing a bit of flax with the wheat. Tried it again side by side with a control and it worked again.

With wheat yes it makes sense for combine settings and cleaning , but chickpeas?
I am not sure on that one

I expect a number or bolls would escape unthrashed. Need the wide wire concave in for kabulis.

Set threshing for chickpeas. But turn wind down some so flax isn’t all blown out back . The two crops together help thresh each other out - you’ll have few if any flax bolls
