    Finally some rain

Got 1 and 3/10 so far and still raining,I dont supose it will do the hay any good but pastures and cereals will benefit and add a bit to the dugouts.
Should have been on the ball and cut hay alfa blooming and timothy headed at 8 to 10 inches tall ,and grasshoppers are at plague levels ,dont know if the grass will keep up with the hoppers. I see hay advertised for 250 per 1300 # bail thats 20 cent per # how many takers at that??

1.75 inches in my rain gauge this morning and still a light rain coming down. Extremely thankful. Hopefully this will turn the brown pastures green. June is usually my favourite month with the long daylight hours and green lush growth. This year not so much. Certainly enjoying this rain.

      1.5” down here. Wonderful.

.25” out east. Less wonderful… They’re really rough out there.

1.2" here. 2 crops better than none.
        It's a start at least.

Did you know that 1 inch per acre equals 100 ton of water,so my 6 in is 600 ton per acre so over a 160 acre parcel 96000 ton or 19 million galons now thats a lot of water.

That gives a person a whole lot of respect for the massive scale of irrigation. Let alone the power of nature.

No rain . 15 mm since April. Wheat at 10 in shotblade. Another week there will not be anything worth harvesting.
