      Rough math, A family of four in Alberta has donated approximately 1.44 million through all of the various equalization programs over the past 60 years, inflation adjusted. It wouldn't be a stretch to invest that sum and turn it into 2 million over 60 years. Not even unreasonable to think that if all four members of that family had invested in the energy industry, all 4 members could have easily turned their share of that sum into 2 million.

      Queue Chuck to come along and give the usual pre chewed CBC approved response to any critique of equalization.
