    Carbon sequestration

What if we were to encourage our urban cousins who cannot plant enough trees in their yards to come and rent an acre of land to plant trees? That way the urbanite would be doing his/her share of reducing carbon and it would bring them closer to the whole conservation/good ecological practices. What do you think?

This would seem sensible at first glance. But we have a drought here... maybe the urbanites could plant windrows and hedgerows for the farmers since reducing the wind velocity would decrease evaporation and the windrows (shelter belts) would catch the snow...if there ever is any decent snowfall. Why don't we suggest this to...uh..who?

The question is who is going to water these trees, hoe between them? watch the noxious weeds blow from the windrow to your lovely clean fields? Not being a negative guy here, just mayve you want to charge them for perpetual care like they do in the graveyard business???

We'll put a big water tank out there and use trickle irrigation with a thick mulch....?
