    Pea soup

This out to piss off the forum nazi's,
but does anyone have a recipe for pea
soup. Hauled some peas this week and
grabbed a pail full and now I want to
make soup with some of the finest peas
grown. I've looked online and all the
recipes call for split peas. I've had
soup made with peas from the bin before,
just not sure how. Pretty sure I've seen
them cooked all day then put in a
blender, but none of the recipes I've
seen call for that. So how do you make
    pea soup.

Any of the split pea recipies will work, just that you get the hulls in the soup which have a different texture. We usually just toss some of our peas in whatever soup we're making, Hamburger, chowder etc.

Thanks Malta. Put a ham bone with carrots
and celery in with the peas and some
spices, cooked for a few hours. Ground it
up and added some more Ham and bacon, then
        had a fantastic supper.
