Klause: any aphids in those peas? I looked tonight and there seems to be quite afew here. Would have to do a more accurate count before I decide on spraying. I may just say screw it and share the bounty!!! (I hate using insecticides)

Used headline and cygon just the other day on the peas. Don't like the aphids sucking the juices out of the plant.

I caved in and sprayed the peas for aphids. I took an aluminum grain shovel and put it in the canopy and shook the peas beside it over the shovel, there were so many I didn't even bother trying to count them. When I compared this to what the industry calls a 180 degree sweep with a net, it was WAY over the economic threshold it was a no brainer. I did go a little overboard with the rate(40 acres per jug{cygon}). The aphid numbers are astronomical and the canopy heavy so I thought what the heck.

Your peas look tall, what variety are they? Another thing, someone is trying to grow soybeans close to me here and it is not one of our traditional crops, it will be interesting to see how they turn out.

Best of luck for the rest of the season!!
