Omega-3 fatty acids are "good" fats that may be good for heart disease, inflammatory bowel disease, arthritis and other health problems. Each tablespoon of ground flaxseed contains about 1.8 grams of omega-3 fatty acids. Studies suggest that consumption of flaxseed may be beneficial in improving cardiovascular health.
