    Tow bars

anyone here use a tow bar to spot a truck out in the field? say, a 1/2 or 3/4 ton with a slip tank? can anyone recommend a particular brand/manufacturer?

        Hi
Go to http://web.nccray.com/gsolberg and have a look. But if you are like everyone else, me included you will make your own. Just make sure it is attached to something solid on the truck.

We made our own self alligning. Small "a" frame out front wedges into the back half and a spring loaded pin locks it in place. If you're anywhere within 18 inches of the tractor hitch you can lift the spring loaded lock pin, move the front half to hook up, then drive your pickup ahead and the hitch locks back into the wedge. We took the design from an old NH3 hitch.
Used half inch by two flat bar for the most of it and half inch plate for the wedge piece.
