Can someone tell me how much fuel a Case2590 will use.

I don't really know but my neighbour is a real old time case lover and he has had a 2590 for years and will never tell me how much fuel it burns. He recently bought a 2290 that he uses on his pull type combine so I think it must use lots or maybe as I am sitting here I remember the gearing in the 2390 and 2590 is a little crazy in the speeds for power take off work.

I checked the Nebraska Tractor Test reports, and test # 1303 was done on a Case 2590 with powershift. The 2590 at rated engine speed and putting out maximum power (about 180 hp pto) will use about 11.6 usgal/hr (44 L/hr). They also report an average fuel consumption over a range of workloads (averaging 100 pto hp output) of 7.5 usgal/hr (28.5 L/hr).
